About Sharon:
I was born and raised in California so I truly am a California girl.
I have a wonderful husband, Tim, who works for the State Legislature
as a computer hardware/software specialist. He helps me solve all
my computer woes. I also have three wonderful children—my son
Casey (11 years old), and my daughters Lisa and Emily (9 and 5, respectively).
We live in a beautiful area with lots of room for gardening and playing.
My house is never clean but we sure have a lot of fun. I have had
a home based business since March 1997.
Choosing virtual assistance for my profession has allowed me to do
what I enjoy most—working with dynamic individuals with a thirst
for adventure and a desire to have it all. It also allows me to be
home for my family when they need me. My hobbies include: gardening,
sewing, scrap booking, reading books, staying on top of industry
trends, and laughing with my children. To further my professional
goals and networking needs, I am a member of E-Women Network (www.ewomennetwork.com).
I have met most of my clients through this great organization. I
am also a student of the School of Coaching and will some day add
the title "Coach" to my business card.
My experience in the corporate world has ranged from executive assistant
for a company CEO to working in the retail jewelry industry. I am
a certified legal secretary (Heald Business College). I remember
my "ah ha" moment when I discovered virtual assistance.
I was getting ready to go on vacation and wanted a couple of books
to take with me. I was at the bookstore browsing when I saw Cheryl
Richardson's book "Take Time for Your Life." When I came
to the part about virtual assistance, I was stunned. Here was the
name for what I had been looking to pursue—a career working
at home using my administrative skills. As soon as I got back home
I checked out the resources for virtual assistance in the book (www.AssistU.com),
signed up for their 20-week virtual training program and graduated
in June 2002. My practice is off to a good start and I currently
have nine clients.
Additional Information: I am available to help you brainstorm, troubleshoot
and dream.

Additional Information:
For ten years of my life I worked in the corporate market but desired
more freedom and creativity in my work. I also had an undying desire
for the perfect combination of working from home coupled with working
in the support role but I was having a difficult time combining the
two passions into one.
During this in-depth soul searching, a coach I had hired introduced
me to the emerging field of virtual assisting. Virtual assisting
would allow me to utilize my current skills of performing administrative
work, but it would also expand my talents and touch so many more
lives. The best part about this opportunity meant that I could be
my own boss, work in my own office, and I didn’t need to be
on site to perform any of the tasks.
Something inside of me awakened and I just knew this was the profession
for me. I enrolled in Assist U and eventually graduated. I continued
my full-time job while building my part-time virtual practice. However,
this put me back into the same rut I was trying to flee from in the
corporate world.
I turned in my two-week notice on faith that it would all come together
and make sense. I was afraid my family was going to lose the home
we had just bought. I was afraid we would struggle without money
and it would hurt my marriage, and I was afraid of failing at my
dream. I did leave my full-time job as planned, and now I am fulfilling
my dream.
There is so much more to life than working to make a living. If you
work to live, you will have so little but if you put yourself first,
success will arrive at your door with a great big basket of surprises
and joy.
